Boston Legal is an American comedy-drama film directed by David E. Kelley, produced for ABC in collaboration with 20th Century Fox Television. The series aired from October 3, 2004 to December 8, 2008. Boston Legal is a spin-off of the long-running series Kelley The Practice, which follows the exploits of former practice character Alan Shore (James Spader) at the law firm of Crane, Poole & Schmidt.
