Airsoft weapons are legal to possess or possess in the UAE. Airsoft guns are sold by gunsmiths. Civilians are not allowed to import airsoft weapons, but weapons depots can import them with special permits. The weapon is considered illegal if any of these rules are violated. [50] The leadership of the Philippine National Police yesterday reminded the public that air rifles, air guns, and replica firearms fall under the nationwide ban on carrying weapons and other lethal weapons, and that, therefore, people carrying such prohibited items will be arrested and charged in court for violating the General Voting Act. In addition, the similarity between real guns and replica airsoft is close enough to cause interaction with local law enforcement personnel when an airsoft gun is openly worn in public. For example, if someone attempted a robbery with an airsoft weapon, they would be charged as if the airsoft weapon were a real gun. [60] In some recent cases, individuals carrying or wielding airsoft guns have been shot dead by law enforcement officers:[61] Possession of lasers and lamps mounted on airsoft guns is illegal. Possession of a device designed to be mounted on a firearm and projecting light in any form in front of the mouth is illegal. A violation is a criminal offence. As of 2020,[34] 1.5 joules is the maximum muzzle energy limit allowed for use in airsoft games. Airsoft guns are now considered low-energy air rifles and are therefore only sold to people over the age of 18. There is also a recognized airsoft community in India such as the Airsoft Sporting Community of India (ASCI).
[33] To import an airsoft weapon, one of the following conditions must be met: The Girit Airsoft Association has started cooperation with USAPSA, the Ukrainian, Slovenian, Swedish and Czech airsofters. An Israeli national airsoft tactical shooting competition was held near Beit Berel in March 2007. Airsoft guns in Hong Kong don`t need to have an orange tip. However, public possession or display of airsoft weapons is not recommended by the Hong Kong Police Department, as it is difficult to determine whether it is a genuine firearm or not. It is also not necessary to obtain a license to sell an airsoft weapon in Hong Kong. In New Jersey, airsoft guns do not currently fall under the state`s definition of firearms. Instead, like other “toy” weapons, they are regulated as “imitation weapons,” but how they are regulated may vary from city to city. It appears that their role in state law stems from the fact that airsoft guns generally do not carry enough force combined with the projectile materials to cause a safe level of damage similar to that of real steel pistols or their more conventional cousins, the air rifle or BB gun.
Airsoft guns typically deliver projectiles at a slower speed than air guns and polymer BBs, which are generally unable to pierce clothing, flesh or bones in the same way as BBs or metal pellets or real steel ammunition. On 1 January 2013, new Dutch airsoft laws came into force. Airsoft devices are air, gas or spring-loaded weapons with a maximum firing energy of 3.5 joules and almost completely resemble real firearms. Those who own a replica of Airsoft or wish to participate in a battle must be registered with a certified Airsoft organization. As of May 2016, only NABV, the Dutch Airsoft Sports Federation, has been registered. Participation in a battle for non-members is allowed up to six times a year, but the Dutch Airsoft Sports Federation must obtain certain details about the player, this usually happens when you rent on an Airsoft site. To become a member of the NABV, a person must pass a police background check and must not have committed any crimes in the last eight years. There is no clear law on how airsoft replicas should be transported, but it is generally accepted among players to carry replicas as if they were real guns to avoid trouble with the authorities.
This means that replicas must be covered during transport in the public space, for example in a fire bag. Even when transporting/transporting airsoft replicas, a plausible explanation must be given at the request of law enforcement authorities. “We have effectively prevented these illegal weapons from being used as tools to commit violence on the streets of the metropolis,” Eleazar said. It is forbidden to have replica weapons in public. This is treated in the same way as illegal possession of a real firearm. Airsoft weapons are classified as “dangerous toys” in Israel, making airsoft legal only for import, manufacture and sale by authorized retailers. Due to the fact that this law is not related to crimes and is therefore not very well enforced, until 2010 it was possible to find private dealers who import airsoft weapons at MPEG and AEG level. Currently, the purchase of airsoft guns of all levels is only possible through one or two authorized dealers. The legislature strives to regulate the importation, manufacture, sale, use and transport of airsoft rifles and pistols for public safety. Rufus Rodriguez (2nd District, Cagayan de Oro City), director of House Bill 3805 or the Airsoft Imitation Gun Bill, said that in 1982 it was passed by former President Ferdinand E. Marcos signed a letter of instruction in 1264 prohibiting the import, sale, and public display of replica weapons.
However, he said airsoft weapon purchases and airsoft player movements remain largely unaffected by the government, with few confiscated shipments tarnishing that record. “No direct rules have been issued to the airsoft community and players of all ages and backgrounds are invited to play,” Rodriguez said. Rodriguez said his proposal calls for a declared state policy to protect the public from harm caused by the unregulated manufacture, sale, use and transport of toy doppelgängers or imitation weapons. As recently as last March, the head of the Philippine National Police, Director General Alan Purisima, said that under Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Regulation of Firearms and Ammunition Act, toy pistols and replica firearms can be seized by authorities. His warning came amid complaints that toy guns and replica firearms are sometimes used on their victims by criminals, especially inmates. Purisima warned criminals and others who use imitation firearms to commit crimes that they could be jailed for violating Republic Act 10591. Meanwhile, the PNP Bureau of Firearms and Explosives (FEWO) pointed out that even a homemade revolver called “Paltik” can be considered a counterfeit firearm, just like toy pistols and airsoft guns, so they fall under intellectual property rights regulations. Rodriguez said organized airsoft began in the country in 1985 and interest in the hobby has increased and decreased several times over the past 20 years. “The airsoft gaming community initially managed their games in secret, but has reached the mainstream in recent years due to the huge increase in the number of beginners due to the advent of cheap airsoft weapons made in China,” Rodriguez said.
