Legal visits: Applications must first be made on paper from the company. There are four types of visits: standard visits, closed visits, contactless visits, and family-centred visits. Family-centred visits take place every last Wednesday of the month. The goal of these visits is to help parents establish cooperative relationships without conflict and maximize opportunities for children to maintain strong, safe and lasting relationships with both parents. They offer valuable time with interactive activities that families share and help them create a sense of normalcy. At Tracenet Legal Services, we are regularly responsible for taking legal proceedings against persons working in the HMP and/or Police Custody Service. In these circumstances, a legal visit is necessary to visit the prison and meet the person as a legal visitor. There is a soft playground for the little ones and a small kiosk for a drink. It is best to use the washroom before going to the visiting hall.
Contact with family members or close friends is an important part of the rehabilitation process and helps support our prisoners during detention. Our large open visiting rooms provide a relaxed atmosphere for prisoners and their visitors. With refreshments upon purchase and play areas for young children, we aim to make your visitor experience as enjoyable and enjoyable as possible. In certain circumstances, such as when an inmate enters prison for the first time or is transferred to a new prison, there may not yet be a list of visits. In this case, immediate family members who can be verified by the information contained in the inmate`s injury report may receive visits. However, if little or no information is available about a person, the visit may be denied. You should always call the prison ahead of time to make sure your visit is allowed. You will be directed to the main prison building, where our visiting room is located. Here you can drop off any property you bring with you for the person you are visiting.
You can bring up to £50 in cash into the account of the resident you are visiting – this can be done before or after your visit, if you deposit the money after the visit, make sure to leave the money with your belongings in your locker. You must ensure that you have the full name and prison number of the residents. We only pass on your data to third parties if there is a legal obligation to do so. There is an official visit stand for the vulnerable prison population, located at the back of the visiting room for vulnerable prisoners and within sight of the officer guarding the room. Applications must first be submitted on corporate paper. Please let us know as soon as possible so we can accommodate you. Legal visits can only be booked on Mondays and Fridays from 09:00 to 11:00 and from 14:00 to 16:00 (excluding public holidays) and from Tuesday to Thursday at 09:00 for 1 hour. To book a legal visit, please email Bronzefield.legalvisits@sodexogov.co.uk.
A confirmation will be sent to you by e-mail as soon as possible. Please note that these stations cannot reveal any information about prisoners. In addition, the Office of Legal Visits may not know when the person was released or may have been transferred prior to appointment time, so it is always helpful to be prepared for these situations when hiring a process server. This link also lists the type of visits not covered by the online service: www.gov.uk/prison-visits therefore you should contact the prison directly.
Please note that these times may change when this closure ends and tours reopen. During COVID restrictions, when visits last opened, residents could have one two-hour visit per month or two one-hour visits per month. For more information on this service, see Mike Bracken`s report on his trip to HMP Rochester or visit the Service Transformation page. Pre-trial detainees can receive hourly visits every day we are open. I also discovered that the front desk staff had thrown four small screwdrivers I had in a glasses case, and I used each screwdriver to repair various things I owned and needed the screwdrivers for so I could tighten the screws or change the batteries on certain items.
